I would be glad to hear they say that, because I deeply love my tradition. I am deeply worried when seeing that my young colleagues don’t even know how to write without a keyboard. However, I don’t hate it, because it is the development of society, advancing but abandoning our heritage. Today is the opening day for the 3rd Calligraphy Art Heritage Training Class, calligraphy teachers here from around China has an important mission on their shoulders. Just as Chairman Su Shishu advocated, ‘Write Chinese Character Well, Be a Good Chinese’, this is the call of Chinese nation and also the responsibility of the young generation. I’d like talk about my thoughts here. I want to donate a ‘Calligraphy Art Heritage College’ to the Chinese Calligraphers Association. Teachers for the college will be selected and assigned by the Association, and student targets will be teachers with interest in calligraphy in middle and primary schools. It aims to promote heritage through calligraphy. The purpose of this college is to diffuse calligraphic standard. Calligraphic standard is as the traffic rule, and a calligrapher should closely follow the standard and inherit the traditional idea of ‘Lingering Charm, Magnificent Conception, Appealing Form and Superior Fineness’. I hope that my idea can be realized, and I am even willing to donate all of the fortune my company made to the Calligraphy Art Heritage project.”
