Reported on June 4, 2004 (by reporter Li Junfu) A delegation of nine members led by Li Wenyu, chairman of American Oriental Banking Corporation and a consultant of Taiwan Evergreen Marine Corp arrived in Qinzhou for an investment inspection on the noon of June 3, which was received by Huang Daowei, the secretary of municipal party committee and Tang Shibao, the mayor at Nanning Airport and met at the VIP room of the airport.
Those who accompanied Li Wenyu in the inspection include Yang Feng, chairman of Great Aim Holdings Co., Ltd. and Jiang Zhixiang, general manager of Belgium DI Asia-Pacific Region Corp.
Huang Daowei welcomed the delegation to Qinzhou for inspection. He said, Qinzhou has 68 km of deepwater shoreline, with domestically best conditions and internationally rare conditions for port construction. The big opportunities from Western Development of China and the annual China-South Asia Exposition, Qinzhou port will become a marine bridgehead to connect Southwestern China, especially Nanning with Southeastern Asia. At present, the port railway and road have been opened. the port planning and Phase II project have been completed, and the expansion project of the deep water channel with a tonnage of 100,000 tons is under way smoothly, which have brought rare opportunities to investment and development. Hopefully everyone can bring the modernized port construction management philosophy, advanced shipping operation experience, funds, technologies and talents, participate in the development in forms such as sole proprietorship, controlling and partnership to build Qinzhou port into a first-class port in the world, so that it can serve Southwestern China and "China-South Asia Exposition" and win generous returns on investment.
